Ethics in War

Today I went to this ethics forum for leaders.  I was looking forward to it but was concerned that it would be a "death by powerpoint" type class.  It turned out to be fantastic.  The leaders were two '98 USMA grads.  They both have really intense stories from their deployments early on in OEF/OIF. 

Nate Self was a Ranger Platoon Leader in 2002.  He had a "Black Hawk Down" type experience.  (His story was featured on Dateline and he wrote a book called "Two Wars".)  In addition to hearing his story, we discussed some case studies and talked about different ethical dilemmas.

On top of all of that, it was at the Marriott Resort in Ko'Olina.  It was beautiful, and we had the a delicious lunch.

Tomorrow is an Aloha Friday (read: half day).  Looking forward to relaxing and having Monday off!

    You have Monday off? Yeah! It makes me laugh to think of that cadet following you around, ha. Lucky guy! Let's make plans to walk around ala moana next weekend (and maybe get a mai tai at the mai tai bar...). Are you free next Friday?
